Custom Wooden Folding Fans

Every supplier sells “wooden fans”; almost none says what the wood is. Here is the honest version:

• “Sandalwood” fans — genuine sandalwood (Santalum) is a protected, expensive essence. At event prices, virtually every sandalwood fan sold in bulk — ours included — is scented sandalwood-style wood: a light wood, stained and perfumed. We label it that way on every card, because the scent and the look are real even when the botany isn’t. See the natural openwork, pink openwork and painted cranes models.
• Solid wooden blades — no leaf at all: the fan is carved wood from rivet to edge, like the carved openwork model. The whole blade takes laser engraving — the premium keepsake format.
• Wooden ribs carrying a leaf — fabric, paper or even cork bark stretched on wooden ribs: these are the wooden fans that print in full colour, photos included, like the white fabric made-to-order base.

Caring for a wooden fan — the guidance nobody publishes: sun is fine, that is the job. Water is not — don’t let wood soak, and store fans flat and dry between events. An engraved mark needs no care at all: it is burnt into the grain and cannot fade, rub or peel.

Wooden folding fans are where “as low as” pricing misleads the most: the advertised price is usually a cardboard paddle fan, and the decoration cost only appears on the quote. Ours is published — all of it:

• Unit price — the reference grid above runs from $5.58 at the 50-unit minimum down to $1.44 at 2,000+ units (23 cm reference model); each wooden model’s own floor price is on its card.
• Included — one decoration position, one imprint colour, artwork check by our prepress team, free digital proof. No setup fee.
• Add-ons per unit, published — laser engraving $0.95, second face $0.55, tassel $0.85, personalized pouch $0.95.
• Production and freight, never mixed — production is 17–21 days from proof approval at typical volumes; freight is quoted separately against your address and date. Two lines, two numbers — not one blurred “delivery time”.

Demand for folding fans is brutally seasonal — summer search volumes run at several times the winter floor, and wedding season sits right on the peak. Wooden and engraved models feel it most: blade carving and engraving hold slots longer than a paper print run. The arithmetic: quotes come back within 2 business hours, the proof usually turns in a day, production takes 17–21 days from approval (24–28 above 500 units), and freight comes on top by destination. For a June–August wedding or event, order five to six weeks ahead — and if you can decide in winter or early spring, you’ll have every slot and every model to choose from.
