Types of custom bamboo folding fans
Bamboo ribs carry more leaf styles than any other frame in the range — which is why this is our biggest category. The families that matter:
- Standard folding fans (21–23 cm) — the wedding and event workhorse: silk, satin or paper leaf on pierced bamboo ribs, printed with your artwork. Start from the made-to-order 21 cm base.
- Bamboo clack fans (33 cm) — the large festival format that snaps open with a crack: disco dots, reflective silver or iridescent PVC.
- Shaped fans — shell and dragon cuts with sculpted ribs and matching tassels, in up to 20 stock designs each.
- Premium leaves — real silk and tape lace, when the fan is the favour itself.
- Engraved wedding fans — names and date burnt into the guard rib, never printed: engraved to order, or the white favour classic with its organza bag. The format most requested for weddings and church services.
What a custom bamboo folding fan really costs
Most suppliers advertise an “as low as” price and keep the decoration cost for the quote. Ours is published — all of it, on this page:
- Unit price — the grid above: from $1.44/unit at 2,000+ units down the breaks, $5.58 at the 50-unit minimum, for the 23 cm reference model.
- Included at that price — one print position, one imprint colour, Pantone matching where the leaf allows, an artwork check by our prepress team and a free digital proof. No setup fee.
- Add-ons, priced per unit and published — second face printed $0.55, laser engraving $0.95, tassel $0.85, wrist cord $1.05.
- Freight — the only line quoted separately, against your address and target date. Never buried in the unit price.

Logo, photo or engraving: pick the right process
Three processes cover everything a bamboo fan can carry, and the right one depends on your artwork, not on price alone:
- Screen printing — solid, saturated spot colours for logos and lettering, Pantone-matched. Each extra colour is a one-off charge, never per unit.
- Dye sublimation — yes, photos print. Faces, a couple’s portrait, full-bleed artwork: sublimation fuses the image into the leaf edge to edge, with no colour count. This is the route for custom photo bamboo fans — send vector or 300 dpi files.
- Laser engraving — names, dates and monograms burnt into the bamboo itself. Engraved bamboo fans carry no ink: nothing fades, rubs or peels.
Small runs, honest minimums
“No minimum” offers usually hide the setup cost inside the unit price. We publish ours instead: bulk bamboo folding fans start at 50 units on this range (some models at 100) — below that, a print run cannot be costed honestly. Wholesale pricing applies from the very first tier, with no account and no minimum spend, and every order — 50 units or 5,000 — gets the free digital proof before production starts.
When to order
Demand for bamboo fans peaks hard from late spring through summer — weddings, graduations, festivals and trade-show season all land in the same window, and production slots fill in order. Our production window is 17–21 days from proof approval at typical volumes (24–28 days above 500 units), plus freight to your destination. Bamboo hand fans — frequently asked questions
Are bamboo folding fans good quality?
Yes — bamboo ribs are light but rigid, they take laser engraving as well as printing, and the leaf can be silk, satin or paper. Bamboo is a grass that regrows in three to five years, so it is also the lower-impact frame in the range. A well-made bamboo fan survives the event and gets kept afterwards.
What is the minimum order for custom bamboo fans?
50 units on this range; a few models start at 100. Below that, the setup of a print run cannot be covered honestly. Every order includes a free digital proof before production.
Can you print a photo on a bamboo fan?
Yes. Dye sublimation fuses photographic artwork into the leaf edge to edge — faces, a couple's portrait, full-bleed designs — with no colour limit. Send a vector file or a 300 dpi image.
Can you engrave names and dates on the fan?
Yes — laser engraving burns names, dates or a monogram into the bamboo ribs or guard. Nothing is printed, so nothing fades. It is the most requested finish for wedding favours.

Are bamboo fans eco-friendly?
Bamboo is renewable by nature — it regrows in three to five years without replanting, which no hardwood does. We say it plainly rather than over-claiming: this range carries no FSC or Oeko-Tex certification today, and we would rather tell you that than print a leaf logo.
